Julia Carlile Britains Got Talent Scoliosis Dancer Actor

BGT star Julia Carlile: ‘Simon Cowell paid for my surgery, but Scoliosis doesn’t define me.’

Julia Carlile‘s appeared on the eleventh series of Britain’s Got Talent with her dance group MerseyGirls, memorably getting a golden buzzer from Alesha Dixon.

From Britain’s Got Talent to Tin Star with Tim Roth

Simon Cowell famously paid £175,000 for her to have spinal surgery, and she’s since featured on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Refusing to be defined by her struggle with Scoliosis, Carlile talks to fellow actor Jennifer Bulcock (making her Film Forums presenting debut!), about her aspirations as an actor.

Julia’s goal of becoming an actor is far from the stuff of dreams, however, as she has featured in Tin Star with Tim Roth (who referred to her as ‘exceptional’) and her determination to act is crystal clear: she’d even consider cancelling future scoliosis surgeries to attend auditions.
