In this interview with fellow actress Aiysha Jebali, Angela talks about her journey as an actor and the importance of embracing the process of acting.
Angela explains how she didn’t take a traditional route of going to film school or pursue a degree, and decided to dive right into the film and television industry – backing herself to make it through the process. Sarafyan talks about her love of acting and not fearing rejection; rather, she embraces the opportunities that castings provide to act – seeing it as simply doing what she loves, over and over again. A refreshing take on what can be a challenging process.
She also discusses her role in King Knight (2021) (trailer above) written and directed by Richard Bates Jr. (Tone-Deaf, Trash Fire) which stars Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds, 500 Days of Summer, Alvin and the Chipmunks Series), Andy Milonakis (Waiting…, Who’s Your Caddy?), Barbara Crampton (You’re Next, Jakob’s Wife) and Ray Wise (Rising Sun, RoboCop), as well as Nelson Franklin, Johnny Pemberton, Barbara Crampton, Ray Wise, Andy Milonakis, and the voices of Aubrey Plaza and AnnaLynne McCord.
Logline: KING KNIGHT is an outsider’s comedy starring Matthew Gray Gubler and Angela Sarafyan as Thorn and Willow, husband-and-wife high priest and priestess of a coven of witches in a small California community. When Willow unearths a secret from Thorn’s past, their lives are thrown into turmoil in this kooky, clever treat, decked with a wild cast that includes Nelson Franklin, Johnny Pemberton, Barbara Crampton, Ray Wise, Andy Milonakis, and the voices of Aubrey Plaza and AnnaLynne McCord. The film premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival.
